TeamMate to provide Telepresence furniture solutions

Systems based on popular Credenza and Executive platforms

Telepresence has arrived... It will change the way we hold meetings, communicate, conduct business and operate globally. Telepresence creates a live face-to-face meeting experience with remote life size participants with fluid motion, accurate flesh tones and perfect audio. As effective as a normal meeting, Telepresence meetings capture every interaction, comment and movement as if everyone is in the same room interacting and communicating.

Until now Telepresence environments are specially designed rooms with custom conferencing hardware and bespoke room furnishings. Such systems provided by Destiny Conferencing, now acquired by PolyCom, start from £125,000 for a four person meeting environment, up to £500,000 for a 28 delegate Telepresence experience. These rooms are designed and implemented solely for this purpose, and can rarely be moved or re-deployed to other parts of the organisation. Furthermore the price tag for such custom environments means that only the heavy budget holders of top corporations with a lot of space can afford the immense benefits of Telepresence systems.

That is until now. TeamMate is developing a range of technical furniture solutions that address the massive void in the market between high definition group systems, and high end Telepresence environments. In fact the TeamMate solution will be manufacturer independent. So in other words users can select their own favourite high definition conferencing hardware and in conjunction with a TeamMate Telepresence enclosure, create their own fully flexible Telepresence system at a fraction of the cost of other custom Telepresence solutions.

TeamMate is proposing to offer two such systems. Firstly, a mobile unit based around the popular three bay Credenza unit. This will provide either a dual or triple screen solution in a fully mobile self sufficient arrangement. The Credenza provides plenty of rack space for other peripherals and requires no cooling fans due to the clever TeamMate convection flow arrangement. The screens are supported by sturdy TeamMate Totem columns with built in cable management. A comprehensive patch panel arrangement ensures that all connectivity is provided for. For those worried about how the TeamMate will blend into their business environment - an extensive range of worktop finishes are also available to match with any existing furnishes.

Secondly, the modular approach based on the TeamMate Executive series provides users with the ability of converting any meeting space into a high definition or Telepresence experience. Each TeamMate unit is a high definition conferencing module within its own right. By connecting each TeamMate module together, creating a fully flexible and mobile Telepresence setup. Attach as many units together to meet the needs of the telepresence session. Furthermore transport and movement across the facility is fuss free as each TeamMate Telepresence module is fully manoeuvrable.
