Aventis AV
enjoy record summer roll out for TeamMate
The
preferred delivery platform for lecturing staff and AV support personnel
Aventis
AV are pleased to announce a record roll out of TeamMate audio visual
lecterns and technical enclosures across a number of higher education
establishments during the summer recess. TeamMate is increasingly becoming
the delivery platform of choice for both lecturing staff and AV support
People. With its’ ergonomic design and sleek looks, TeamMate brings a
sense of modernity to both the integrator and end user alike. It’s
versatile modular approach provides integrators with a simple and easy
platform for efficient integration and pre-installation testing before
moving to site with a fully working unit.
The advantages to education establishments embracing the TeamMate platform
are substantial. Teaching time is uninterrupted as all TeamMate systems can
be moved to site, connected in, with no physical installation required. The
user interface allows for simple icon control of all AV and IT hardware
within the teaching situation, meaning that lecturers and presenters can
fully focus on their students, knowing that each TeamMate system provides a
reliable seamless delivery of course content.
Furthermore, TeamMate helps take away the headaches from AV and IT support
personnel, as each unit has easy service access to a neatly laid out wiring
loom and connectivity panel, with all cabling is securely hidden away.
Also, costly hardware is securely positioned in an internal rack structure,
for peace of mind operation in a tamperproof enclosure. TeamMate systems
are now being embraced by many higher education establishments across many
campuses, as a pivotal element of their teaching systems strategy.
The
University of Birmingham – GV Multimedia
Aventis AV and GV Multimedia have partnered under a framework agreement to
provide The University of Birmingham TeamMate based teaching systems. A
range of TeamMate units have been specified for various teaching areas
including lecture theatres, teaching rooms and small conference rooms. In
most cases a TeamMate Tutor or new TeamMate Trainer has been selected. In
other areas TeamMate Totems, Executives and Presenters have been used. In
total 57 rooms are being fitted out across four buildings—Nuffield,
Strathcona, Watson, and Learning Resources. The University already have a
number of TeamMate systems deployed across the campus. A proven formula of
TeamMate units with standardised AV hardware provides a reliable and
familiar working system which is easy to maintain and remote monitor over
the University network. The 57 rooms being fitted out by Aventis AV and GV
Multi-media almost doubles the number of TeamMates now being used on campus.

delivery hardware. Procon and AMX have been chosen as the control hardware
with push button panels and touchscreens. Universal AV based in Bradford
have where awarded the contract for an initial 12 rooms with a further 10 to
15 expected early 2007. The University had taken an earlier version of the
TeamMate Tutor in September 2005 as a pilot unit to measure the benefits of
the proposed unified platform.
The London

TeamMate Tutors have been selected by LSE as a campus wide strategic
teaching platform. Roche AV has installed an initial 27 units in the Tower
block off Aldwych in central London. Each TeamMate Tutor houses a Dell PC,
DVD combi unit, amplifier, Procon switcher, and Elmo Visualiser. More rooms

further 34 TeamMate Tutors are also being specified for the new build on
Kingsway, set to come live late 2008.
Brunel
University – AV Machines
Brunel
University

programme in the central lecturing block at their Uxbridge site. AV

rooms with an initial roll out of 24 by the end of October. Each TeamMate
will use a custom housing to accommodate a 6” Crestron touch panel, Cisco
internet phone and bespoke patch input plate. Brunel selected TeamMate as
the lectern of choice for a number of reasons including modern looks,
